Also, cover art for Sublime was released here:

Good news! Sublime has a dvd release date. Following the success of Raw Feed's first release, Rest Stop, Sublime will be released on March 13, and will be screened at the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, Calif., shortly before its premiere.

The article linked below describes Sublime as a film "about a man admitted to a hospital for a routine procedure, only to discover that he's landed in a ward of horror where patients come not to get better but to die."

Bird has a song ("Near You," previously unreleased) on a cd for The Voices and Faces Project, a "non-profit national survivor network created to give voice and face to rape survivors." Check out the cd here - it also includes tracks from Neko Case, Joseph Arthur, and The New Pornographers, among others.

This week (tomorrow, 10/29, Sunday, etc) marks Bird's first appearance on Desperate Housewives, so don't forget to watch or set your TIVOs or VCRs. Her appearance in this episode is brief, so don't miss the last five minutes. I'll keep you posted on upcoming appearances as well. Evidently she'll be popping up throughout the remainder of the season.

Also, if you're a member of Facebook, there's a global group for Bird fans - search under her name and the name is 'Bird York Fan Club,' helpfully. ;) So go join up and invite your friends to do the same!

Other things I missed? Drop me a line.

I liked the article found here, at the M-Audio site. It talks a lot about how Bird is and M-Audio artist and gives fun little insights to her recording process.

Bird's forum is undergoing a bit of a revamp, so check that out here, and jump in and get some discussion going if you feel so inclined. Perhaps most excitingly, you can also visit the Bird York store on cafepress.com. There are some totally cute items there, and you KNOW you always wanted "tingle in my jeans" boxers. Don't try to deny it.

These pics are from a few years ago, from the West Wing 100th episode party. I hadn't found them without watermarks until now, so I thought I'd post. These are from sparklies.org.

Both behind the cut, because they're big!Collapse )

Also, this was mentioned as part of a street team email a few weeks ago, but it's interesting, so I think it bears repeating. If you're interested in what Bird is listening to, hop over here and check out the amazon.com list she put together.

Questions? Concerns? Random insanity? Email me.

Seems like there are exciting things going down in Birdland. It was just announced on her website that she'll be recurring on Desperate Housewives this fall, so keep your eyes and ears open for that, and I'll keep the comm updated as she pops up.

Also, she'll be performing in Los Angeles at the Agape Music Symposium and Arts Festival, which runs Sept 7-9. Bird's part of the lineup for the Peace Concert at 8pm on the 9th, so if you're in the area, check it out. For more information about the festival, go here.

Sublime info seems to be seeping onto the horror movie scene. There's an article from Fangoria here, and evidently the publication has visited the set and will have a report on that later, so I'll get that posted when it pops up. There's also another article with similar overview info here.

From the second article:

Admitted to a hospital for a routine, minimally invasive procedure, George Grieves (Cavanagh) discovers that his circumstances are much more serious and complicated than originally expected. Trapped in the increasingly bizarre and dangerous world of the eerie hospital, George tries to maintain his sanity while uncovering the truth behind the growing number of medical misdeeds happening within the institution's East Ward. As his own fears begin to manifest all around him, he learns that this is not a hospital where people come to get better... this is a hospital where people come to die.

Also, this article on Zap2it.com talks about how A House Divided is still on ABC's radar. The network evidently extended the option on the actors in the show, so it might still be added to the schedule (or, as has been alluded to, could turn into a miniseries).

"A House Divided" features former "Practice" star Dylan McDermott, Jason Wiles ("Commander in Chief") and Sarah Clarke ("24") in a drama about a conflict between residents of a Kansas farm town and the federal government that threatens to escalate into something larger. "October Road" is about a writer (Bryan Greenberg of "One Tree Hill") who moves back to his hometown.

(Thanks to ninefish for the heads up on the second one!)

A little update on the official site. One of Bird's gigs in Seattle, at Chateau Ste. Michele, is sold out. There are still tickets available for Sunday, July 23, so check out this post for the ticket info.

Also, she'll start filming another film, Footsteps, an indie feature film, in early July. Check back later for more info about that.

Here's a little mention of Bird's new movie, Sublime, which is filming right now. It'll be released direct to video by Raw Feed Productions, an arm of Warner Bros. It doesn't give a release date, but says that the company plans to release 10-15 films to video each year. The project is directed by Tony Krantz, a "24" co-producer, and stars Bird and Tom Cavanaugh.

Bird talked a little bit about the film on the RANTS page of her site, so check that if you want to hear a little more. I'll throw a release date and more information up here whenever anything becomes available.

Bird is on the bill with Pink Martini for concerts on July 22 and 23 (7 p.m. both nights) at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville, Washington as part of the Chateau Ste. Michelle summer concert series. (Other artists on the series over the summer include Bonnie Raitt, Keb' Mo', Garrison Keillor, Damien Rice, and Fiona Apple. Nice company. I don't know anything about Pink Martini, so if you do, drop me a line.) Info and a link to ticket purchasing is here. Tickets start at about $30.

Also, you can go to the Peaceful Warrior official site to see if the movie's opening near you. It's in a few cities now, and will be opening in many more on June 23.
